Obituary of Ruby Hunt Ramsey

Mrs. Ruby Hunt Ramsey, 100, of Gallatin entered into rest on November 12, 2015 at her residence at Morningside Assisted Living Residence in Gallatin surrounded by family and friends. The service will be held at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 2601 Cages Bend Road, Gallatin on Saturday, November 14, 2015. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted by former and current pastors of Mrs. Ramsey. Pallbearers are Clint Cook, Mark Cook, Matt Flynn, Wes Flynn, Chuck Petersen, and Macon Thornton. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Cage and Sammy Reynolds. Burial will be Crestview Memory Gardens, 1623 Old Hwy 109 North, Gallatin. A native of Simpson County, Kentucky, Mrs. Ramsey was the daughter of the late Sterling and Commie Gibson Hunt. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, James “Jimmy” Ramsey. She is survived by her daughters Lynn Nystrom and Tracy Hamilton of Gallatin, and Trina (Mark) Cook of Columbia, nieces Delene Clendining, Sue Draper, and Omaleah McClary of Franklin, KY and Betty (Winona) Martin of Guntersville, AL, five grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, special friend Terry Thornton, and numerous beloved great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Ramsey was a faithful member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of her beloved Ladies Group and the Young at Heart Club. Ruby retired from Chas. C. Parks Company where she was employed as a bookkeeper for over 30 years.
